Want to know what being in group therapy is like? Watch this YouTube miniseries.

A colleague recently passed along the most accurate and entertaining depiction of group therapy, a miniseries on YouTube called “Group.” Over the course of seven episodes, we see two sessions jam-packed with potent group work.

Based on the group therapy novel The Schopenhauer Cure by Irv Yalom, Ph.D., this series features real-life group analyst Elliot Zeisel, Ph.D. leading a group composed of improv actors who have been given a character sketch but no specific script. The series feels realistic largely for this reason: what unfolds is an actual group process between the actors.

If you’d like to know what being in a therapy group is like, check out “Group.” I found the series quite moving, and I imagine you will too.
